The SkyFi team is excited to welcome Tom Babb to the team! Tom will come on as Community Success Manager.
After graduating from the University of Kansas in 2019, Tom started his career at Mobility Designed, a manufacturer and seller of innovative mobility products. At Mobility Designed, Tom managed e-commerce strategies for the direct-to-consumer business and built an online community by leveraging the power of social media.
Due to a wave accident in 2015 that left Tom paralyzed from the chest down, Tom navigates life with the use of assistive technology and support from his community. “I believe in the importance of growing and maintaining relationships in life. These relationships, these communities, are the key to success,” Tom said.
“I am excited to join the SkyFi team because I want to be a part of a company that is disrupting its category. Coming from Mobility Designed, a company that has disrupted the mobility aid category, I knew that the greatest way to make an impact is by providing a solution no one has ever considered. The company is backed by a team of proven leaders and Bill Perkins’ vision to democratize Earth observation data. And lastly, the company is still in its early days which means each new hire will directly contribute to the success of the organization. All these things inspire me and motivate me to work even harder!”
“I love this satellite image because these giant airplanes look puny, and the picture just screams ‘taken from outer space!’”
“The most exciting thing about SkyFi is that we still can’t fathom all the use cases for the product we are providing. I’m confident that the community that will be interested in our product is the type of community that will harness the tools we are providing to create solutions we haven’t even thought of. The SkyFi Community will be a community of entrepreneurs and solution-driven leaders that will use our products to solve global challenges. What’s more exciting than that?”
“My role is the Community Success Manager. The Community Success Manager at SkyFi is the perfect combination of creating awareness for SkyFi through never-seen-before pictures of our planet while establishing and growing a community of users that will work with the SkyFi app to solve problems.
Because SkyFi is launching a product that does not currently exist, our messaging, and overall content, will need to communicate the benefits of the SkyFi application. I'm excited to help the everyday consumer (like you and me) understand how the product may fit into their life.” What drives you?
“Change drives me. One of my strongest characteristics is adaptability. My whole life I’ve adapted very well to change because I view change as a new start – a new opportunity. At SkyFi, we are providing access to a new camera lens, a vantage point that only few have had access to before. SkyFi will change the way we view the world, and that change drives me.”
