SkyFi and GTA Announce New Partnership for Exclusive Hyperspectral Analysis

3 min read

Austin, TX - July 2, 2024 - SkyFi, the world's geospatial hub, is pleased to announce a new partnership with Geospatial Technology Associates (GTA), a leader in hyperspectral image analysis. This partnership will see the integration of GTA's advanced hyperspectral technology into SkyFi's analytics platform, providing users with brand-new capabilities in mineral and lithium detection, with more on the way.

GTA, known for its hyperspectral image analysis and extensive spectral library, brings decades of expertise to this partnership. Their technology processes data across a wide range of the electromagnetic spectrum, allowing for the precise identification of materials based on their unique spectral signatures. While this technology is tried and true, this is the first time that it is commercially available in this way.

Targeted Lithium Detection and General Mineral Detection

SkyFi's new product offerings include Targeted Lithium Detection, Targeted Ammonia Detection, Targeted Boron Detection, and General Mineral Detection. These tools utilize GTA's patented and proprietary methods to deliver detailed reports on material or mineral abundance and location, enhancing decision-making processes in industries such as mining, environmental monitoring, and renewable energy. Interested in utilizing the technology for another use case? SkyFi also provides Custom Material Detection through the platform.

The ever-growing spectral signature catalog is central to these offerings. This highly detailed catalog enables the precise detection of various minerals or materials and is carefully curated to consider surface materials, identifier materials (or those that can be a hint as to what is underground), and confusor materials that may share a location with the material you are looking to target. For now, users can bring their own hyperspectral data, allowing SkyFi's advanced analysis tools to process and interpret the information they already possess. In the future, integrated hyperspectral satellite providers data will be available for use with these products

“We at GTA are offering this patented technology exclusively for satellite imagery through our SkyFi partners,” said Bill Basenerl, President of GTA.

Bring Your Own Data (BYOD)

SkyFi’s initial launch of these products will operate on a BYOD basis. This approach allows organizations, individuals, and companies with existing hyperspectral data to leverage SkyFi’s analytics. As more hyperspectral satellites are launched, SkyFi plans to expand its capabilities to provide even more comprehensive data solutions.

“By integrating GTA’s exclusive catalog, we just made the magic hyperspectral analysis a whole lot easier for individuals and businesses around the world! We look forward to the day where hyperspectral data is easy to acquire from space so we can provide users with hyperspectral data in addition to this exclusive analysis,” said SkyFi Analytics Product Manager, Payton Barnwell.

This partnership aims to provide industries with the tools necessary to conduct efficient and accurate mineral exploration. The integration of GTA's proprietary technology into SkyFi's platform will streamline the process of data analysis, optimizing current workflows and enabling users to make well-informed decisions with state-of-the-art analysis.
