The partnership connects TerraByte's natural-language search for any place or object on Earth with SkyFi's on-demand imagery, and satellite tasking, giving analysts and researchers a direct path from finding a location to acquiring imagery of it.

AUSTIN, TX – July 17, 2026 – SkyFi, the leading Earth Intelligence Platform, today announced a partnership with TerraByte, an AI company building natural-language geospatial search. The partnership combines TerraByte's discovery capabilities with SkyFi's commercial satellite imagery, analytics, and satellite tasking platform. A TerraByte user can discover locations and areas of interest through intuitive search and move directly into SkyFi to purchase high-resolution, up-to-date imagery of that exact location.

TerraByte's geospatial foundation model searches satellite imagery by what is actually visible in it, the pixels themselves, rather than by metadata or map labels. A user can type a plain-language query, such as “wind turbines in Holland” or “copper mines in Australia,” and get back a list of real locations anywhere on the globe. From there, SkyFi provides the commercial layer: access to more than 300 satellite and aerial imagery sources through a network of more than 40 partners, with standard delivery in under 24 hours.

“Satellite imagery has always been a powerful tool but painfully hard to find and afford,” said Rishi Madhok, co-founder and CEO of TerraByte. “TerraByte makes the planet searchable: ask a question in plain English and find exactly what you are looking for, anywhere on Earth. With SkyFi, the moment you find it you can buy the imagery, recent, high-resolution, in a click. Together we are putting Earth intelligence within reach of a whole new set of users.”

“TerraByte gives the SkyFi platform another entrance point, one built for people who have never run a geospatial search before,” said Andrew Canales, Chief Revenue Officer of SkyFi. “Our mission has always been to make Earth intelligence accessible. TerraByte's natural-language search brings a new audience to that mission, and SkyFi gives them a direct path from searching a location or object to receiving imagery and analytics of it.”

How the partnership works

From question to imagery, in one click. TerraByte finds a place or object anywhere on Earth. SkyFi provides the path to purchase high-resolution imagery of it, closing the gap between finding a location and acquiring imagery of it.

Search by content, not coordinates. TerraByte's foundation model searches for what is in an image, such as power plants, refineries, ports, and wind farms, without requiring coordinates, name of a specific location, or GIS expertise.

Recency where it counts. TerraByte surfaces what exists in open and archival imagery. SkyFi adds the latest available imagery and satellite tasking, so users can move from finding a location (Port of Los Angeles) or type of object (ports in California) to seeing it today.

A wider audience for Earth observation. The partnership brings satellite imagery within reach of analysts and researchers in finance, energy, and other fields who have lacked the budget or expertise for enterprise-scale geospatial tools.

Early use cases

Early use cases span energy, including oil refineries, pipelines, power plants, and wind and solar farms; finance and alternative data, including ports, shipping activity, mining sites, and tank-farm monitoring; and infrastructure, including EV chargers, data centers, and ports.
