SATIM SAR Vessel Detection and Classification Now Available on SkyFi Through New Partnership
Radar-based detection works day or night and finds vessels that have gone dark on AIS
AUSTIN, Texas, September 17, 2026. SkyFi, the leading Earth intelligence platform, today announced an integration with SATIM, the leading provider of automated SAR analysis layer for ISR operations. Through the integration, SATIM SAR Vessel Detection and Classification is now available to SkyFi users, powered by OREC, SATIM's AI analysis engine for radar imagery.
Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) sees through cloud cover and works at night. SATIM SAR Vessel Detection and Classification detects vessels in that radar imagery and classifies them by type. The analysis does not rely on a vessel's own signal, so it can find ships that have turned off their AIS transponder.
OREC is sensor-agnostic, so it works across the SAR sources already available through SkyFi. Users order radar imagery and run the analysis in the same workflow they use for the rest of the SkyFi catalog, with no separate tooling to learn.
