AUSTIN, TX – May 11, 2026 –U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) is conducting a Phase I effort to assess commercial capabilities that enhance the timely delivery of geospatial imagery and related products to tactical forces. SkyFi, a commercial Earth intelligence provider, has been selected to support early development of a prototype Sovereign Intelligence Platform (SIP) and an associated Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK) plugin.
SkyFi is a U.S.-based commercial provider of satellite imagery access and geospatial analytics tools. The company offers online platforms that allow users to obtain archived imagery, request new collections, and incorporate remotely sensed data into operational workflows. SkyFi supports both government and commercial applications and maintains a suite of tools intended to simplify interaction with Earth observation data.
Insights gained from Phase I will inform potential follow-on activities, which may include expanded integration tasks, additional imagery delivery mechanisms, and further assessment of data processing and visualization approaches. These efforts help ensure operators have timely access to mission-relevant geospatial information in support of decision making.
